  Gait Feet Correction PointsImg11.gif

Gait Testing and Correction Points

Applied Kinesiology uses muscle assessment tests as a way to correct imbalances in the structure of the body.  AK Practitioners use muscle corrections (balancing) as a way to repattern  the structure and thus restore better function.

Intuitive Kinesiology® offers this simple Gait Correction Technique in many balance segments to help the body to ground and hold after shifts have taken place.  You can use this anytime you need a lift, extra energy, or feel out of sorts.

What are Gaits?

Gaits refers to the reflexes in the feet while walking.  Its one of the many simple procedures we can use on a regular basis.  I often correct for ‘gaits’ as it offers better communication in the lower body and allows for better grounding.  Especially after much   structural work this is a good one.

Movement like walking is meant to have an energizing, de-stressing and integrating influence on the body.  One of the many reasons involved in tiredness could be our walking gait.  This is a disturbance in the normal co-ordination of the muscles used in walking.  The synergistic  and antagonistic muscles are not working in an integrated manner and this is more tiring to your body.  Gaits can also cause structural imbalance to remain even after adjustment has been made.  If your structural adjustments are not holding your gaits may be out of balance.

 Gait Correction

1. First assess your energy.  Walk around the room.  Assess your energy at 0-10, Ten means you have maximum energy.

2. Rub the gait reflexes (refer to the diagram).  Rub all points and notice tenderness.

3. Reassess your energy level and note the improvement.

    You may repeat the correction.

Possible use

Gaits can be needed in situations of tiredness, uneven shoe-wear, poor co-ordination, brain fog or confusion, dyslexia or learning problems, anxiety in terms of stepping out, fear of change, not moving ahead in your life.

Possible causes

Badly fitted shoes, high heels, walking on uneven surfaces, sports, training on hard surfaces.  You may also use this on yourself after a massage or chiropractic adjustment as things have 'shifted'.
